Dr. Raizman is a specialist in corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery. He received his training at Harvard Medical School and University of Michigan.  He completed two fellowships at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, followed by three years of post-doctoral research at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Raizman served on the full-time faculty at Harvard Medical School from 1988-1991.  He is associate professor of ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine and director of the cornea and cataract service at the New England Eye Center.  Since 1993 he has directed the joint Cornea Fellowship at Tufts University and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston, where he is a partner.  He is on the staff of Massachusetts General Hospital and Tufts Medical Center. 

Dr. Raizman is on the editorial board of the Archives of Ophthalmology/JAMA Ophthalmology.  He has authored over 100 original, peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and one book.  He has received two honor awards from the American Academy of Ophthalmology for his scientific presentations and educational activities. He has delivered over 500 invited lectures throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia and has been a visiting professor at the medical schools of Columbia, UCLA, University of Michigan, University of Texas, Loyola, and others.  He gave the Distinguished Alumnus Lecture at Kellogg Eye Center, University of Michigan Medical School, the Richard L. Lindstrom, M.D. Lectureship for the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists, the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness for the Chicago Ophthalmological Society, and the Irving W. Leopold Lecture, for The Wills Eye Hospital Society.

Dr. Raizman was selected by his peers to be included in Best Doctors in America.  Boston Magazine recognized him as one of the top ophthalmologists in the city and Dr. Raizman is included in Who’s Who in America and Best Doctors in the US News and World Report.
